Start small
Create your account, verify your email when delivery is enabled, and add a personal account with its currency and opening balance. Record an entry or import transactions. To share, start by creating a group.
Bring a CSV or a text-based PDF
Choose a destination account, review columns, dates and amounts, and adjust categories. Possible duplicates are flagged. Confirm only the rows you want to keep. Scanned PDFs require assisted extraction when that service is available.
Resume a pending review
Choose Save review for later. A local copy of the document and your changes is kept on that device. Drafts can be resumed for seven days and deleted earlier. This is a snapshot: save again after making changes.
Separate spending, transfers and refunds
Moving money between your own accounts is neither income nor spending. Link a refund to the original expense from Transactions. Review these rows before importing them as ordinary entries.
Share without opening your personal accounts
Create a group and participants, record who paid, and choose the split. Each person can see their balance. Repayments happen outside Tallyn and the recipient confirms their record.
Save a recurring split
From a group expense, save a template or schedule. Recording the next expense requires confirmation. Review the split if participants change.
Record your own share
Open My personal share on a group expense and choose an account in the same currency. First check you have not already imported the expense. Only your share is added; the group balance is unchanged.
Documents, archives and leaving
Attach a PDF or image to its entry. Settings lets you export personal data, recover a compatible archive or check account closure requirements. Shared balances and group ownership must be resolved before closure.
Can I afford it?
Open Can I afford it? from Home and enter a price. The estimate uses recorded balances and payments; check they are up to date. You can leave a purchase on hold and decide later.
Review my week
Open Review, select this week or the previous week and follow five steps. Only you tick the checks. Save a draft to retain it across devices.
Set up our Duo household
Open Household plan from Shared. The second person must accept both the Duo seat and the household plan. Agree on the split and declare contributions: Tallyn does not move money.
My trial and subscription
See trial days and subscription details from your profile. Individual is €7/month or €69/year; Duo is €10/month or €99/year. Groups are free. After the trial you retain history access and export.
